2016 In Review

2016 was a great year for Colour Me Happy Decorating. At the start of the year I was really questioning what I wanted to do with the Instagram after gaining a significant following.

I was reposting a lot of inspo pictures but wanted to start slowly introducing my own images of spaces in my home which was quite successful and received a great response.

Through the use of tribe (which I talked about in "Must have social media apps") I managed to work with some amazing brands. Ranging everything from creating content to assisting in their marketing campaigns. Through my Instagram community I have met some amazing local brands and had the pleasure to work with them and help build their socai meadia awareness.

The biggest change in my life this year would have to be the start of the blog. I'm by no means a writer but I have managed to surprise my self with my growth and consistency in posting and my improvement in writing. 42 Blog posts down for last year and many more to come in 2017.

My favourite shot I took in 2016 would have to be the shot below. I got the idea for this photo because I was in love with the cover of the November issue of Harper's Bazaar. I kept with the silver and blue featured in the magazine and brought this through the image with the blue agate coster, the silver computer pad and also a few checky cupcakes.

I did a lot of travelling last year in my personal life and this year I have planned for many more travel adventures and of course I will blog along the way documenting my experiences and giving my advice.

I want to thank you for all your support this year, it means the world to me and helps motivate me to continue to do what I love to do. The most amazing part of social media is you don't know where it is going to take you, so I am looking forward to seeing where 2017 takes me.
