My Stay at the Outrigger Phuket

During the last few days on our recent holiday we had the pleasure of staying at the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort. The resort is situated on the west coast of Phuket and is half an hour away from the international airport.

Outrigger Phuket resort overlooks the beautiful beach of Bangtao and backs on to a Laguna that we could see from our room. I have to say I really enjoyed the room location as it was very quiet and peaceful. The resort is a modern take on Thailand architecture with high pointed roofs complimented with warm interior décor. My favourite interior styling was in the reception with its stunning high ceilings and feature rattan hanging pedant lighting.

With our room choice we had access to the club lounge. The lounge offered us free non-alcoholic drinks during the day along with small afternoon snacks starting at 2pm. Cocktail hour started at 6pm where they offered free alcoholic drinks and canapes. We got great use out of the lounge and it was definitely worth paying that little bit extra to take advantage of the perks.

The resort has three restaurants and two dedicated bars and of course I tried them all in the name of research...or at least that’s what I am telling myself. Every restaurant on the premises uses the best ingredients and produce top quality food worthy of the five star rating they hold. My favourite restaurant was “Metzo's”, it has a Mediterranean inspired menu and every few nights they hold a pasta buffet. I am still dreaming of that buffet and drooling while writing this. Now while we are on the subject of buffets the breakfast was so amazing, it catered to all nationalities really well. Shout out to chefs who made the bacon nice and favourite!

I was stunned at how good the service was, you couldn't walk past an employee without being greeted. Which lives up to Thailand’s reputation of the “Land of Smiles”. That kind of service just enhanced my stay and made it that much more memorable.

Parents you would be impressed on how family friendly outrigger is. They have kids activities, baby sitting and children's options in the restaurants and there are a number of families who choose to holiday there.

During our stay we really had a great time, we took in the beauty from the great sunsets to swimming in the amazing pools. Sometimes we indulged in one to many cocktails and went on unplanned walks along the beach to feel the sand between our toes.

Would I recommend Outrigger Phuket? Yes absolutely! I really want to return again on my next visit. Have you stayed there before? What did you think?
