Making Friends With My Skin

I'm into beauty and my routine is quite in-depth but one area I don't put a lot of focus into is my skin. I'm currently 28, moving closer to my 30's every day, and lately, I have been noticing a change in my skin. From an oily T zone and very rare breakouts, my skin has changed into being very congested and dry, I don't even know my skin or what works for it anymore and I know this is a common issue amongst women as we age.

I recently had an epiphany, I need to take better care of my skin, she’s with me for the long haul so it's time to make friends. I'm lucky with my work I get to experience services and meet knowledgeable people in their areas of expertise. I was so happy to connect with Smart Skin Clinics team and talk to them about my skin concerns.

My main skin concern is Dryness, redness, congestion and blackheads.  The solution to combating my concerns was to start with Microdermabrasion. I describe it like a vacuum for your face, but not as aggressive, it's very gentle on your skin working to exfoliate, remove dead skin cells and to unclog pores. With a warm blanket over me and the soft thoughtful music of a spa environment, it was actually quite relaxing.

Next step was a chemical peel, it sounds so scary, but with experienced and knowledgeable people its nothing to be afraid of. I had the lightest chemical peel, for the higher levels you have to do some pre-prepping of your skin, you feel a bit of tingling but nothing uncomfortable. While I lay back and relaxed getting a scalp massage the peel was working on smoothing out my skin and hydrating it, everything it needed!

You might be thinking what now? How do I keep my skin as good as it looks and feels after a treatment? All the questions I had. What I can say about the Smart Skin Clinic team is they are so lovely and have so much great knowledge they are bursting to share with you. I had a great chat about my skin and went home with products that fit my skin and my concerns, It was a game changing appointment and it made me stop and really think about my skin and what I can do going forward as I age.

What are you must have skin treatments or skin care routine?
