A Weekend Getaway

There’s nothing like getting out of the city for a quiet weekend away, it’s not often that we do so leading such busy lives sometimes we forget to stop and recharge. I’ve always been told how beautiful Daylesford is and at only an hour and a half away from the city it’s a hot spot for weekend getaways with their natural springs and world-class spas.

Just outside Daylesford is The Dudley Boutique Hotel located in Hepburn Springs. Originally built in 1908, but renovated throughout the years it’s where old world charm meets modern Australia interior trends with five star standards. The Dudley has also boasted some impressive awards over their time such as 2016 #1 boutique hotel in Australia, it’s not surprising why I had such a beautiful stay.

Upon entrance, you are greeted with a perfectly manicured garden and various sculptures placed throughout, which creates an Instant sense of calm. Through the beautiful black door  you are welcomed to walls of local art, definitely an art lovers dream.

The house boasts many spaces to unwind from the beautiful library with a fireplace which would be heavenly in the winter to the games room complete with wooden boardgames and black high backed chairs all surrounded by outdoor spaces where you can tune out from the world.

We stayed in the deluxe queen room, newly renovated with modern decadent decor, free-standing standing bath and modern bathroom it was a luxurious night of relaxation and even included a dip in the bath.

When the clock hits 6 pm it’s time for complimentary wine and cheese. Served where ever you decide we chose to spend time in the games room. With local wines and a beautifully curated cheese platter you wish this could be an everyday occurrence.

There’s one thing you never need to do at The Dudley and that is stress. Dinner plans can be made for you and you can take advantage of being driven into your restaurant of choice along with being collected, so you can indulge in not only food but also wine.

Breakfast is served in the dining room with a large array of beautifully presented Continental breakfast options, the most perfect way to start your day. You also get the choice of a hot option that is presented so beautifully but also tastes as good as it looks, using locally sourced produce by growers in the Daylesford region.

What makes The Dudley so different from anywhere I have stayed, is the service which is so personalised to you and your needs. With delicious food, stunning interiors it’s like stepping into a different life where all your stresses melt away and you can really just unwind. I highly recommend you experience The Dudley Boutique Hotel offers and can’t wait to go back for another stay.
