Love it or hate it cosmetic injectables popularity is at an all-time high, whether you want lips like Kylie Jenner or maintain youthful looking skin with cosmetic injections it seems everyone has an option. Me personally I’m from the school of thought, why not? It’s your face, your life, you do you. For me in my late 20’s I wanted fuller lips, I’ve always loved the shape of my lips but just wanted some fullness in my top lip so it didn’t disappear when I smiled.
When it came time to decide its time for new lips I wanted to go to a well known regarded clinic that has before and after pictures and could offer me an education on the process, results and outcome. Australian Laser & Skin Clinics are celebrating their 20th birthday, have 12 locations across Melbourne and are known for their quality of service and educated, experienced nurses and beauticians. Along with great service, Australian Laser & Skin Clinics have a limited time offer of 1ml Lip Dermal Filler for only $369* Making it affordable *T&C’s apply.. My clinic of choice was Hillside, which is nice and close to home and work making it super convenient to attend my appointments.
Upon arriving for the appointment you have a detailed session with the nurse performing your injectable fillers about the procedure, results, risks, outcomes and learn everything you need before taking the plunge to beautiful lips. I was really appreciative of the time taken to answer my questions and felt completely confident that I wanted to continue to go ahead with the procedure.
I had dermal lip filler put into my lower and top lips, once the numbing cream was placed around the lip area prior to the injections I still felt a sharp pinching feeling that made my eyes water a little but was still quite bearable. The appointment including the consult and procedure normally takes around 40 minutes.
Immediately after the consult my lips swelled which is normal and to be expected. I felt no pain as the numbing properties in the injections last for a few hours and just felt like I had been to the Dentist. My coworkers knew that I was having my lips done so I did it on my lunch break and came back to work. I rocked the swelling at work, but if you want to be more discreet I would suggest doing it before some days off so the swelling can go down.
The swelling reduced day by day and I felt no pain or discomfort and could wear lipstick and had no funny looks. The most important thing is not to get scared from the swelling thinking my lips are too big! Because they can take up to two weeks for the swelling to go completely down. With my fillers, I got one bruise on the left side of my lip and that area swelled up more than the rest of my lips but at the two-week mark that went completely away and healed.
When reading other people’s lip filler experiences it's important to remember that all our bodies react differently and what happens to me doesn’t mean it will happen to you, we all heal at different rates.
I have to say I love my lips, they have been done so naturally and have been getting great compliments I indeed will get them done again once they wear off, which can be anytime from 4 - 6 months, it’s different for everyone.
What do you think of dermal lip fillers? or what was your experience? let me know in the comments.
